In the 3rd episode of the gradually improving Reducer Podcast; Brian, Jawn and Joe share a pack of Tourney Menthol 120 Slims and manage to talk about food and cooking for almost two thirds of the episode. Topics include Rum; liquor infusions; Domino’s Pizza and Subway being terrible; the beauty of Niki Minaj’s amazing backside; breast milk ice cream; hushpuppies; Lady Gaga; the Obama girls eating cheese fries and Andrew Zimmern’s homeless past. Joe and Brian attempt to talk about their Hack of the Week; until Brian channels Orson Welles and finds himself stammering drunk off Paul Masson Brandy.

UPDATE: If you missed it, here’s the recipe for the Mixed Grill.

Reducer Podcast 102: Fun’s Fun, But Seriously We Love Mexicans

Every joke in this episode compiled into one picture.

In the second episode of the ever-regressing Reducer Podcast; Brian, Jawn and Joe discuss the food they cooked for the Super Bowl, argue over ethnic salts, weigh the cultural importance of TV’s Jenna Von Oy, introduce our “Hack of the Week” segment and debate the eternal struggle between cake and pie. In between tales from behind the bar; Jawn ties Black History Month to food and George Washington Carver’s invention of the Nut Goodie

Tecate is the sheeeet.

As always, there’s plenty of inappropriate language, terrible peanut puns and vaguely racist jokes about Mexicans. On the plus side there’s lots of good bits about Mexican Beer, Hawaiian food and why it’s hard for a man to get a job cooking on the quinceañera circuit.

Breakfast Links: This was supposed to be a podcast…

Our podcast engineer Brian seems to be lost in the… Call of Duty, so the only content I have for you so far this morning are some links and this picture of a breakfast I made in Hawaii a couple years ago.

Spam & Eggs

(Turkey Spam) and eggs

Fun Fact: the only things on the plate that didn’t come from the island of Maui are the bread and the spam.

Here be your breakfast links:

To get you in the mood for the Super Bowl, the madmen at Epic Meal Time have managed to break the 100,000 calorie barrier with their Sloppy Rothlisburger.

Packer Backer? Here’s some Cheese News (link courtesy of Heavytable)

CNBC (huh?) released a list of the best foodie cities in America and guess what? The Twin cities were nowhere to be found. Less shocking was the presence of my hometown (Santa Fe, NM) and a few other cities I’ve lived in (Santa Rosa CA, Boston, Burlington VT). The fact that Austin, TX is not on there is a damn tragedy.

That’s all I’ve got for now. I’ve gotta go figure out what I’m serving guests during the Super Bowl. I set the bar a little too high last year…

Super Bowl Snacks

This doesn't even include the beans and rice...
