If you haven’t already listened to sixth Reducer Podcast, do yourself a favor and give it a listen. In it we describe an informal challenge to create a Bacon Burger Dog for the 21st Century; and here’s where we officially start that challenge.

THE BACON BURGER DOG CHALLENGE:

• Object: To recreate a new version of Cliff Huxtable’s esteemed Bacon Burger Dog (video above)
• Take advantage of the next couple of months of grilling weather to develop your recipe. Experiment. Be creative. When you think you’ve got a winning recipe; take a picture of it and submit it with a brief description of your technique and ingredients. The winner will be highlighted on the website and be featured on an episode of The Reducer Podcast. All that; and they will  receive our undying respect.
• The submission deadline is June 3oth and the winner will be announced on July 3rd, so that way everyone will be able to attempt to grill their own version of the recipe on Independence Day.
• The winner will be awarded for creativity, use of the ingredients and potential deliciousness.
• Don’t just give us a retread of the Huxtable recipe. Go nuts with this one.
• Don’t eat meat? Give us a vegan version that doesn’t suck.
• Don’t eat pork?Give us a halal or kosher version that Headchef doesn’t hate.
• Don’t eat red meat? Perhaps you’ve heard of turkey?
